Before running a surfacing program to flatten your MDF spoilboard, it is absolutely critical to ensure your CNC spindle is perfectly trammed (perpendicular to the machine bed). Even a fraction of a degree out of square will cause this large 1-1/2-inch bit to leave unsightly “scallops” or ridges across the surface. Once properly trammed, program a 40% to 50% stepover and keep the spindle speed at or below the 16,000 Max RPM limit for a glass-smooth finish.
